Shinagawa Shōzō

Shinagawa Shōzō was born in Niigata Prefecture, November 24, 1912. He studied Yamada-ryū shamisen and koto under Nakanoshima Kin’ichi and earned his Shihan (masters license) in 1936. Active as a performer, recording artist, and teacher for more than 50 years, he was a member of the Sōyū-kai and a planning committee member of the Nihon Sankyoku Kyōkai.
