Born February 28, 1925 in Gunma Prefecture, Kano Kakudō (Kano Ushinosuke) studied Kinko-ryū shakuhachi under Kimura Yūsai, Kobayashi Eidō, and Shimizu Shundō. He was Director the Chikusen-kai, head of the Shakuhachi Tsurusei-kai, and received an award from the Kawasaki Cultural Association.
