Satō Kimiyoshi was born August 26, 1939 in Fukuoka Prefecture. He studied Kinko-ryū shakuhachi under Satō Seibi. He started teaching in 1958. He belonged to the Bifū-kai headquarters. He was a manager at the Kinko Shuppan-sha music publishing company.
