Tanaka Nyohō (Tanaka Masuo) was born March 11, 1920 in Hiroshima Prefecture. He studied Kinko-ryū shakuhachi under Yamaguchi Hōdō and Jin Nyodō. He was the secretary of the American Nyodō-kai at the group’s headquarters in Los Angeles.
