Born December 28, 1926 in Maizuru City, Tamura Kōrei (Tamura Koreyoshi) studied Kinko-ryū shakuhachi with Ōyabu Shūrei and was a member of the Tamagawa-sha. He was a councilor of the Osaka Sankyoku Association.
