Chikamatsu Monzaemon (1653 - 22 November 1725) was a puppet theatre and kabuki performer and composer from the early to mid-Edo period. His real name was Sugimori Nobumori. He also went by the pen names Heiando, Sorinshi, and Fuisanjin.
