Hashimoto Seidō (Hashimoto Aisuke) was born October 20, 1889 in Ehime Prefecture. During his nearly 50-year career in shakuhachi he studied Kinko-ryū shakuhachi under Hamamura Gendō and began teaching in 1933. He presided over the Seisei-kai.
