Kunishige Kaemi (Tomioka Miyoko) was born December 27, 1930 in Yamaguchi Prefecture.
She studied Ikuta-ryū koto and shamisen under Chikushi Katsuko and began teaching in 1950.
She belonged to the Chikushi-kai, earned the designation of Dai-Shihan (Grand Master), and graduated from the 6th class of the NHK Ikusei-kai.
