Kikumori Senshun (Kawamoto Eiji) was born December 9, 1900 in Yamaguchi Prefecture. He studied Ikuta-ryū shamisen and koto under Kikumori Kinsen and began teaching in 1919. A member of the Ōsaka Tōdō Ongaku-kai and president of the Koshun-kai, he received the Yamaguchi Cultural Merit Award in 1959 and the Yamaguchi Prefectural Board of Education Cultural Merit Award in 1971. He was active as both a performer and teacher for more than 60 years.
