Kikuyodo Kinhō (Tanabe Seiji) was born in Muroran City, October 20, 1902. He studied Ikuta-ryū shamisen and koto under the Honorary Daikengyō Kikuhara Kotoji and received his Shihan (masters license) in 1924. A member of the Sapporo Sankyoku Kyōkai, the Kinyū-kai and Shiun-kai, he performed and taught for more than 40 years.
