Born in Hokkaidō, January 25, 1928, Toki Riyūri (Toki Sukako) studied Ikuta-ryū koto and shamisen under Itō Ryūshū, earning her teaching credentials in 1961. She was head of the Sōryū-kai and a member of the Tamagoto-kai.
