Born in Tokyo, October 29, 1904, Naitō Mikie (Naitō Hiroko) studied Yamada-ryū koto and shamisen under Torii Tonami IV, Torii Tonami V, and Nakanoshima Kin’ichi IV. Active as a performer and teacher for more than 50 years, she belonged to the Yōmei-kai and was a council member of the Nihon Sankyoku Kyōkai.
