Fukutani Chitose

Fukutani Chitose (Ōtani Chieko) was born January 3, 1915 in Hokkaido. She studied Ikuta-ryū koto and shamisen under Fukumori Toshiko and began teaching in 1937. She belonged to the Chitose branch of the Nihon Tōdō Ongaku-kai and was the organizer of the Kyoto Eiraku-kai. Her career as a performer and teacher spanned more than 50 years.
