Sakimoto Gyokuhō (Sakimoto Chiyokichi) was born May 1, 1930 in Miyazaki Prefecture. He studied Kinko-ryū shakuhachi under Nishikawa Gyokuō and started teaching in 1965. He belonged to the Gyokuo-kai.
