Shin Nijyū-ginuta

新二重砧

[Genres]Shinkyoku
[Komponiert]Tomiyama Seikin I - Koto
Tomiyama Seikin I - Shamisen

Geschichte:

The "Sandan Shishi" section was composed by Sayama Kengyō (?-1694). The koto piece for "Kinuta" was composed by Ikuta Kengyō (1656-1715), but the circumstances surrounding its arrangement into "Niju Kinuta" are unclear. The shamisen in the "Kinuta" section repeats the same musical pattern as "Kinutaji." Based on this "Niju Kinuta," Tomiyama Seikin I has added more variation and improvisation to create this new arrangement, known as Shin Nijū-ginuta.
In form, this is a tegotomono (traditional Japanese ensemble) for koto and shamisen. The opening verse of "Sandan Shishi" (originally "Ukare Onna") and the closing verse of "Rokudan Sugaki" are included as opening and closing verses.
It is said that the poem includes the names of courtesans such as Yoshino, Takao, Karasaki, Toyama, and Tokiwa
