[Genres]Shinkyoku
[Auch bekannt als]Four Themes of Rain (originally Rain of Japan)
[Komponiert]Tomiyama Seikin I - Shamisen - 1943

Geschichte:

Composition: Composed by Tomiyama Seikin I in April 1943. Submitted to the Second Sankyoku New Work Presentation sponsored by the Japan Cultural Central League under the title "Rain of Japan," it won third place. Received the Dai-Nippon Sankyoku Association Award. After the war, the title was changed to "Four Themes of Rain."

Shamisen duet.

Structure: Based on the theme of rain in Japan's four seasons, this piece consists of four movements. The first movement is about spring rain, the second about summer evening showers, the third about autumn showers, and the fourth about winter sleet. At the beginning of summer, it's still dry and wind chimes are ringing, but then black clouds appear, a drizzle begins, and finally, a downpour.
