Born in Shiga Prefecture, January 27, 1901, Naruse Teisen (Naruse Asako) studied Yamada-ryū koto and shamisen under Murata Shōsen I. She started teaching in 1930. A member of the Takenari-kai, she was active as a performer and teacher for more than 40 years.
