Nakajima Takeko was born in Tokyo, December 5, 1943. She studied Yamada-ryū koto and shamisen under Hisamoto Genchi and her mother, Takahashi Masako (who later became Takahashi Eisei III). She began teaching in 1959. She was affiliated with the Tokiwa-kai and the Shikin-kai.
