Born in Tokyo, October 22, 1900, Sasaki Shōha (Sasaki Jin) studied Yamada-ryū shamisen and koto under Hagioka Shōin I, earning his Shihan (masters license) in 1923. He was active as both a performer and a teacher for almost 70 years and belonged to the Hagioka-kai and was head of the Shōfū-kai.
