Kojima Shōsen (Kojima Aimeno) was born in Yamaguchi Prefecture, September 15, 1889. She studied Yamada-ryū shamisen and koto under Imai Keishō, earning her teaching credentials in 1935. With over 60 years of performing and teaching experience, she was the head of the Shōju-kai, a planning committee member of the Nihon Sankyoku Kyōkai, and a director of the Yamada-ryū Kyōkai.
