Shakuhachi

Aoki Rinpū (Aoki Shigeru) was born November 9, 1893 in Oita Prefecture. He studied Kinko-ryū shakuhachi under Mizuno Rodō, Yoshida Seifū, and Satō Seibi. He received his Shihan (masters license) and began teaching in 1912. He was an advisor to the Bifū-kai and was an active member of the shakuhachi community for more than 60 years.
