Born May 10, 1902 in Aomori Prefecture, Kudō Itsumyō (Kudo Hideyoshi) studied Itsudō-ha Kinko-ryū shakuhachi under Ikeda Itsuren and Kinko-ryū with Takahashi Tekkan (Kawase Junsuke I lineage). He started teaching in 1956 and belonged to the Shakuhachi Itsuren-kai.
